Name
One Health and the Nexus approach: initiatives to lead the way and reconcile climate, biodiversity, and health
Date
Monday, November 9, 2026
Time
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM (UTC+03:00)
Description

In the face of health, climate, biodiversity, and pollution crises, the "One Health" approach and the health-climate-biodiversity-environment nexus call for moving beyond silos to build integrated strategies. Indeed, protecting ecosystems, preserving soil sustainability, and reducing community-level risks serve simultaneously as pathways for climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and the reduction of risks associated with the emergence of zoonotic diseases. This event will bring together policymakers, local stakeholders, and representatives from the business and academic sectors to discuss collaborative levers for accelerating the implementation of the One Health approach. It will also highlight various voluntary initiatives capable of fostering collective momentum across different dialogue and cooperation frameworks—such as regulations, climate diplomacy, and action agendas—and help better integrate the One Health approach into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans, while guiding future climate policy cycles.

This session is hosted by CN France in partnership with Entreprises pour l'Environnement, French MFA, CIRAD. For more information on this session, please contact Camille Bos, camille.bos@pactemondial.org.
