Amadou Hott is Senegal’s Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation since April 2019. He was formerly the Vice President of the African Development Bank’s Power, Energy, Green Growth and Climate Change Complex, a position he held from November 2016 until his appointment in the Senegalese government.

Previously, Minister Hott served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Senegal, where he spearheaded major infrastructure investments, including energy projects and renewable energy. He also served as Chairman of Aéroport International Blaise Diagne (Senegal’s new international airport), Managing Director of UBA Capital, Director at Millennium Finance Corporation, Founder and CEO of Afribridge Capital (an investment firm specializing in advisory services in the energy and ICT sectors).

Minister Hott boasts over 20 years of experience in areas such as structured finance, sovereign wealth funds management, investment banking, infrastructure and the development of integrated energy solutions across New York, London, Dubai, Lagos and Dakar.

He received his undergraduate degrees in applied mathematics and economy and his Masters of Sciences in Finance, from Sorbonne University in Paris. He was also an exchange student in New York University’s MSc in Financial Mathematics program. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012.
