Ms. Shahamin S. Zaman is an economist and has over 20 years of development sector experience with international organizations including Harvard Institute for International Development ( HIID ), Ashoka Foundation, Canadian International Development Agency, Actionaid International, UNDP, DFID and others across a wide range of sectors including private sector development, agriculture, gender, health & population and education. She has also led teams on fundraising, partnership development, international communications, resource mobilization, child sponsorship and research monitoring and evaluation. She is an expert on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and private sector engagement, multi-stakeholder dialogues and policy advocacy. Her experience ranges in facilitating dialogues with donors, NGOs, INGOs. CSOs and private sector as well as Government.

She advocates for sustainable and responsible business practices at the national, regional and global levels. She has initiated multi-stakeholder discussions on the UNGC Principles including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Food and Agriculture Business Principles, Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs ),etc. She has been engaged at policy level for developing the National CSR Policy for Children in Bangladesh based on the CRBP and initiator of the National CSR Guideline for Bangladesh Government. As Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Bangladesh, she has successfully advocated for the implementation of the SDGs within companies.
She has been on the board of the UN Working Committee for Labour & Human Rights; a member of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) Regional Steering Committee for South & Central Asia led by UN Secretary General, a Board Member at Solidaridad International, Chair of Solidaridad Asia, Chair of Global Compact Local Networks Regional Council – Asia & Oceania Region, Member of UNGC Global Network Council, Multi stakeholder Advisory Board member of GRI South & SE Asia, member of amfori Stakeholder Advisory Board, member of SAI Advisory Board and member of the Board of Governors of UCEP a national NGO working on education for underprivileged children and youth.
