After noticing a gap in the market for turnkey support services, Soraya started RA International in 2003 in Afghanistan to provide a closed loop service of procurement, delivery, construction and IFM.

The company has since grown from its first order of $2600 and one person, to $69 million in turnover and close to 2000 employees.

In 2018 the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM with Soraya remaining as CEO and an Executive Board member. Soraya has been voted among the Top 100 most powerful Arabian women. She is a contributor to high-profile journals and speaks regularly at international forums, including the United Nations, on topics including developmental goals, vaccines and sustainability within developing nations.

Soraya is a strong advocate and supporter of responsible business practices and community-based enterprises. Wherever RA operates, the company provides employment, training, and skills development to the local community.
