Sébastien Vauzelle is the Head of the Secretariat of the Local2030 Coalition, the UN system-wide
mechanism to advance the crucial engagement of local stakeholders in the SDGs.
He has been working with the UN for 17 years as a policy advisor and Senior Economist specialised in
local development. In different UN Agencies and at local, national, regional, and global levels, he as been
providing policy advice and technical support to sustainable development policies and practices, with a
special focus on SDG localisation, in ten countries in total, over four continents.
He has supported major political and socioeconomic reforms, within a demonstrated strategic vision for
resilience and sustainable development, jointly with local and national Governments and sustainable
development stakeholders, while piloting innovative solutions through participatory, forward-looking
approaches.
He studied in the French “Institut d’Etudes Politiques” and has a master in Humanitarian Action and
International Development from the University of Aix-Marseille (France).
