Saravanan Desigamanie

Head of Group Sustainability, KPJ Healthcare Berhad

Saravanan Desigamanie leads the sustainability transformation of KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Malaysia’s largest private healthcare provider, where he spearheads the Group’s decarbonisation agenda and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. His work focuses on embedding sustainability into business models, driving climate resilience, and creating long-term value across a network of over 30 hospitals.

With more than two decades of cross-sector experience spanning sustainability, energy transition, strategy, investor relations, and corporate communications, Saravanan brings a rare combination of analytical depth and strategic foresight. He holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (Hons) in Software Engineering from Multimedia University, Malaysia, and is a Certified Investor Relations professional (CIR®) accredited by the IR Society (UK).

Before joining KPJ Healthcare, he played a pivotal role in accelerating the energy transition within the power generation sector through the development of a comprehensive ESG roadmap. In the plantation industry, his leadership in sustainability communications significantly enhanced both domestic and international investor confidence.

Widely recognised for his clarity of vision, stakeholder agility, and results-driven leadership, Saravanan is passionate about advancing low-carbon, inclusive healthcare systems aligned with national and global climate goals. His mission is to shape a future where healthcare delivery not only heals patients but also safeguards the planet.
