Across regions, efforts to advance gender equality and non-discrimination are facing intensifying backlash—from legislative rollbacks and disinformation to rising anti-rights movements targeting women and LGBTIQ+ communities. As restrictive environments become more common, some companies are scaling back public commitments. This closed-door session offers a safe space for business leaders to reflect on emerging risks, navigate backlash, and workshop a way forward. Leveraging the tools and strategies offered by the UN Guiding Principles, the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), and with insights from subject matter experts, participants will explore how to protect people and business, adapt programming in order continue advancing equality amid global backlash.
Selecting this session includes access to the UN Global Compact Hub for the entire day.
